Content found on idgonemad.net is Copyright 2001-2008 by George Arthur Dodge IV (George A. Dodge, George Dodge) / "gadiv" except where expressly noted otherwise. All rights reserved on all art, creative works, writings, and ideas expressed. It is also to be understood that all content is credited to George Arthur Dodge IV (George A. Dodge, George Dodge, and other conceivable variations as they appear on this site) or gadiv (GADIV, Gadiv), all of which refer to the same person, be it in name or in initials, pseudonym, et cetera, except where expressly noted otherwise. Content may not be used by other parties without express written permission. Permissable usage of works by other parties will be listed below for easy reference but the list is not necessarily a complete list.
Visitors are inevitably going to download my images for personal use and I understand that and will spare everyone the heavy, ham-fisted diatribe about not stealing my stuff; you know you should not steal other peoples' things, I know I won't really care if you download something to wallpaper your computer or print out something to glue to your Trapper Keeper. However, I will care as soon as you try to use my stuff to make money (for any reason) or further your own agendas (whatever they may be), without my permission, consent, et cetera. We'll leave it at that for now, but do me this small favor in return: Do not modify the File Name of images in any way. I have based file names entirely on works' names and their copyright information instead of cluttering the site's images with any unsightly site tags or watermarks. I ask that you do not make me regret this decision or exploit its spirit, of which I alone can appropriately interpret. Please do not try to screw me. I will defend my content and take your ass to court when I find out about any impropriety.
Under no circumstances will a work be allowable in a publication, for profit or non-profit, Jesus or Buddha, without my being contacted and the use being expressly permitted. I am talking an ink-and-paper communication, here. I can be reached via this fragment of a sentence to arrange such.
A brief word on how Copyright works: in many countries, and in particular the United States, a work becomes Copyrighted veritably "by default" - meaning as soon as a work is created, it automatically becomes a Copyrighted work. This also means that, even if a person creates something and does not, forgets to, or neglects to expressly note his Copyright on a work, that the work is still Copyrighted. Further, Registering a Copyright with applicable Copyright Offices is not a requisite action to facilitate protection on a Copyrighted work - the registration mostly makes proving a work's copyright easier in court (but is required prior to an infringement suit) by virtue of there being an officially documented and dated registry, but the work was under protection the moment it was created. I, for instance, will be able to demonstrate that I created something at a particular date, will be able to register a copyright or usurp an illegal registry, and will be able to see you in court.
More information on Copyright Law can be found at www.copyright.gov, the United States Copyright Office.
