This is the doll known as A Contaminated Slide.
NAME: A Contaminated Slide
DESIGNATION: First Group, #4
NOTES: Slide came together very easily in concept, but took some work to create her. While wandering local yard sales I found an old microscope kit among a handful of children's toys. I could not pass up such odd materials for a mere fifty cents, and rather quickly thought up the general layout of what became A Contaminated Slide. It was probably more difficult to figure out what I would name her.
Slide is a heavy doll, considering the metal microscope base and arm she is built around. She stands well and is otherwise sturdy, though if she were to take an exceptionally hard fall, she might break her right arm and definitely the glass slide panes. This doll also has a working light housed in her eyepiece, which does work and adds a nice little effect, but I really should rework it now that I have better resources for wiring lights. There isn't even a switch on her at the moment, turning on through the connection of a pair of wires.
The picture immediately below is of the current version. The Profile photograph was taken during her development. Notably missing are a few alterations to the dress, the conaminated slide, battery housing, and the painted contaminant.
