This is The Dollhaus, where one can find the My Little Possessions series, a collection of art dolls / slash dolls / sculptural assemblages I have built utilizing materials and themes not found in the standard doll faire. These were inspired primarily by the abundance of dolls one can find at yard sales; I regularly pillage the yard sale circuit for materials, and the plethora of used and no-longer-loved dolls in turn inspired me to use the dolls as materials.
I noticed, also, that quite a lot of dolls and toy babies are just plain creepy. I would later find that this creepiness I perceived participates within the robotics theory of the The Uncanny Valley, where artifical approximations of living things become less the things they mimic and more off-putting the better they mimick the real thing at certain levels of their evolution, until they close in on becoming indistinguishable. I find most dolls to be well within that Valley, with little chance of climbing out. It is a wonder to me why any girl dreams of becoming a mommy one day, what with all of these scary little rubber and plastic larval humans sold in cellophaned boxes at toy stores, staring eerily with faux needy eyes. And some of them pee.
Shudder.
So, no harm done in making their creepiness a bit more overt, right? Right?

Scary ass dolls are nothing new, and hell, I swear that most dolls look scary on their own long before I ever start cutting into them.
And, just FYI, I have seen the Toddlerpedes, so you can stop e-mailing me links to them. Yes, they're kinda cool. It doesn't look like that dude does anything else, though, so I don't really care.
That said, expect...
...More to come...
