describe : My family tried to be a church-going family for a while, but it did not work out quite so well. Not for need of acceptance, but when it was less than attainable (or, for me, outright denied at times - sue me, I had ADHD) we moved along, and were the better for it.I then grew up some, became old enough to read into history at my own leisure, and read up on all the wonderful things Catholicism has brought to the world, namely in the crusades and burning people for disagreeing with them or looking at their God from another perspective. The audacity to remove someone from existence over such a thing is simply apalling.It's an affront to intellect.

Some kinds of people only become strong
after meeting an adversity and surviving

That is precisely what you've done all along
with your fool's golden rules pulling strings

with your indulgences of terrible things
with your sins levied generously
impressing fear on your own flocks
and any stray you would call black
for striking out on his own
trying to live a life free of your terrible authority

with your pompous regal fixtures and riches

with your hymns praising glory
selling heaven to comfort the weak
that wretched mass that you have made slaving away their lives under your awful tyranny
