A Mingling of Worlds

I would like you to know that
there is this dream that I’ve been having for many years
where the world is broken concrete jagged walls
and immaculate ragged cement cliffs
and pitiful trees barely lay claim to the landscape
between great stretches of turbulent rivers
dirty like massive gutters fat with rain run-off
and washed-within debris
and I am all alone and adventurous braving the
risk of tetanus and drowning
reaching like skeletal ferric fingers from columns
poured some long time before.

I would like you to know that
you’re in the dream now
and we go there to climb and swim together.
